About me

As a person-centred integrative* counsellor and therapist, I believe that you possess the ability for personal growth and change. Given the right environment and support, you can change the way you are feeling and thinking. I will listen without judgement, and focus on what is concerning you, hurting you or keeping you stuck.

My aim is to create a safe, supportive and comfortable environment for those seeking counselling and therapy services.

I am experienced in working with people (adults and young people) impacted by trauma, including sexual and domestic abuse and exploitation. I recognise how trauma can result in deeply embedded emotions such as anger, shame or anxiety.

I also work with young people, providing an understanding, empathic and non-judgemental place for them to share their worries and feelings.

Qualifications
Post-graduate Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Cumbria (Level 7)
Advanced Certificate in Parent-Child Therapy from Trauma Informed Schools UK, CCMH and IATE
PGCE Primary (5-11)
I follow the BACP's Ethical standards and guidance. Further details can be found at: www.bacp.co.uk

*The person-centred integrative approach is a way of helping people that combines different types of therapy and focuses on the individual as a whole. It's based on the idea that each person is unique, and so can be tailored to fit the person's specific needs
